The GEN project, carried out in collaboration by SJM TECH and ATHLOS, consists in the creation of a 3D avatar equipped with a software for speech recognition through which the user is able to undertake a series of interactive tasks during a virtual visit.
The mobile application, developed for smartphones and tablets, allows the user to visit, in a virtual way, a museum and the works of art there collected (in the present case, Renaissance pictures).
A virtual assistant, GEN, a museum guide-looking 3D avatar, welcomes the visitor and asks him whether he is interested in obtaining information about the pictures. In case the visitor is not interested in receiving information, he is free to continue. If he wants to obtain information about any particular picture, the visitor simply (verbally) asks GEN to provide it and GEN will (verbally) answer. The range of the questions concerning a given picture that can be asked for is rather wide, so that the visitor can appreciate the artist’s work in every respect.
The technology we are able to provide is not confined to the museum field, being possible to use it for a range of applications, according to the client’s needs.
